When it comes to manifesting what you want, your energetic vibration is everything. It’s like the foundation for the entire process. When your vibration is high, you feel energized, hopeful, and optimistic, which makes it easier to focus on and work toward your goals. On the flip side, when your vibration is low, doubt, anxiety, and skepticism creep in, and it feels nearly impossible to make progress.
This is why protecting your energy is so important—not just for manifesting, but also for your overall health, vitality, and well-being.
Why Your Energetic Vibration Matters
Your vibration is essentially the frequency at which you’re operating. Think of it like a radio station: when you’re on a high-frequency channel, you’re tuned into feelings of joy, optimism, and empowerment. But when you’re on a low-frequency channel, it’s all static—self-doubt, fear, and pessimism.
The frequency you’re tuned into doesn’t just affect how you feel—it also determines what you attract. If you’re radiating high-vibration energy, you’re more likely to draw in positive opportunities and experiences. If your energy is low, you may attract situations that reinforce that same negative frequency.
What Affects Your Vibration?
To keep your vibration high, it’s important to recognize what lifts you up and what pulls you down. Some things energize and inspire you, while others drain and deplete you.
Here are a few examples:
Things That Lift Your Vibration
Spending time with uplifting people who believe in your dreams.
Engaging in activities that bring you joy and inspiration.
Listening to speakers, podcasts, or audiobooks about manifesting and co-creating.
Practicing gratitude and focusing on what’s going well in your life.
Things That Lower Your Vibration
Spending time with negative or critical people.
Focusing on fear, doubt, or worst-case scenarios.
Overexposing yourself to stressful news or toxic environments.
Protecting Your Energy
Protecting your energy means being intentional about what and who you allow into your space, especially while manifesting.
Choose Your Conversations Wisely
Not everyone in your life will understand or support your manifestation efforts—and that’s okay. The key is to know who to share with and who to avoid when it comes to your goals.
For example, my mother is an incredibly negative person. She doesn’t believe in manifesting and would probably pick apart everything I said if I shared my process with her. Spending even 20 minutes with her talking about this would completely drain me.
On the other hand, I have friends who not only believe in manifesting but actively practice it themselves. When I share my goals and experiences with them, it’s uplifting. We exchange stories, tips, and ideas. We laugh about the synchronicities we notice and celebrate each other’s wins. Their belief in what I’m doing strengthens my own belief—and that’s priceless.
Lean Into Social Proof
This brings me to the concept of social proof.
Social proof is a psychological phenomenon where we tend to believe something is true if others believe it too. We’re social creatures by nature, and we have a deep desire to belong. So, surrounding yourself with voices and stories that reinforce your belief in manifesting can be incredibly powerful.
For me, this means listening to speakers like Bruce Lipton, Gregg Braden, and Joe Dispenza, or reading books and articles about manifestation. When I do this, I feel hopeful and inspired. My focus sharpens, and I feel empowered to work toward my goals.
Contrast that with spending time with someone negative—like my mom. After just a short conversation, I feel depleted, and all of the positive energy drains out of me. This is why it’s so important to be intentional about what you’re consuming and who you’re spending time with.
Most of Us Grew Up With “Muggle” Thinking
I grew up in a muggle family. You know, the kind of people who don’t believe in magic—literal or figurative. They didn’t believe in manifestation, co-creation, or the idea that we have the power to shape our own reality. Instead, life was all about playing it safe, following the rules, and accepting limitations as “just the way things are.”
Whatever we’re exposed to growing up gets deeply imprinted on our subconscious mind. If the people around you didn’t believe in these principles—or didn’t believe you were capable of achieving your goals—it’s likely that some of those beliefs got impressed upon you.
This is why it’s so important to be cautious about who and what you expose yourself to, especially when you’re in the process of manifesting. Your subconscious mind is always listening, always taking in information. If you spend time around people or consume media that reinforces doubt, scarcity, or fear, it will inevitably pull your vibration down.
On the flip side, surrounding yourself with positive, empowering influences can help reprogram your subconscious, raise your vibration, and keep you aligned with your desires.
Tips for Keeping Your Vibration High
Here are some practical ways to protect your energy and maintain a high vibration:
Curate Your Environment
Fill your space with things that inspire you: uplifting music, books, affirmations, and vision boards.
Limit exposure to news, social media, or conversations that feel heavy or negative.
Choose Supportive Relationships
Spend time with people who lift you up and believe in your goals.
Avoid sharing your manifestation process with those who are overly critical or skeptical.
Tune Into Positive Content
Listen to speakers, podcasts, and audiobooks that reinforce your belief in manifesting and co-creation.
Surround yourself with stories of others achieving their dreams to strengthen your own belief.
Set Boundaries
Protect your time and energy by saying no to situations or people that drain you.
Give yourself permission to step back from relationships that don’t serve your higher good.
Practice Gratitude
Take a few moments each day to reflect on what you’re grateful for. Gratitude is one of the quickest ways to raise your vibration.
Your Turn
Take a moment to reflect on your own energetic vibration:
What lifts you up and makes you feel inspired?
What drains your energy or pulls you down?
How can you make one small change today to protect your energy and keep your vibration high?
